Nuclear power as a “Green” energy source is a myth.
It’s not cheap.
It’s not safe.
It’s not necessary.
There are so many reasons why this is so, so here are some of the reasons why nuclear is not the way forward. Feel free to add your own in the comments.
Renewable energy generators on the other hand, once built, harness what’s out there, the sunlight and the wind don’t need to be trucked in, and there’s no solar or wind waste to deal with afterwards.
See what they're saying through the link below
Isn’t it carbon neutral?
Whilst no carbon is emitted at the power plant (which is just basically a big radioactive steam engine) a lot of carbon is generated in the nuclear industry's supply and disposal chain.
People who claim that nuclear is a carbon-less industry forget all the carbon involved in the transport of materials and waste, and the waste! Well, we’ll get to that later.
The Water Use
In the US, nuclear power plants use as much water in 1 hour as a city of 5 million people! 113 million litres!! in one hour!!

Well, we need to do something, Now?!
And what situation might we be in by then? Even just looking at the water stress map above.
Renewables on the other hand can be deployed much more quickly. On people's and business's homes and on large scales too. Its current growth is phenomenal!
The nuclear industry has failed to come up with a satisfactory method of dealing with its waste. It becomes a public cost.
Alternatives to Fossil Fuels and Nuclear?
We can go 100% renewable energy in Aotearoa New Zealand!
Renewable energy is starting to stand on its own feet.
It doesn't make economic sense!
